Care Tips
Water Sprite is one of the most forgiving aquatic plants available. It thrives in a wide range of water conditions and temperatures between 68–82°F (20–28°C), and requires no CO₂ or special fertilization to grow vigorously. When planted in the substrate, it develops an impressive root system and grows upward quickly — trim regularly to control height. When floated, it spreads broad fronds across the surface, creating natural shade and shelter for fish and shrimp. New plantlets form directly on mature leaves, making propagation effortless.
Aquascape Use
Water Sprite is a true workhorse in the planted aquarium. Use it as a fast-growing background plant to fill in bare spots, float it to soften bright lighting and reduce algae, or let it provide cover for spawning fish and shy invertebrates. Its soft, delicate texture pairs beautifully with broader-leafed plants like Anubias and Cryptocoryne, adding movement and visual depth to any aquascape.
